Fran Powell is a forward-thinking and entrepreneurial senior executive that has served as an SVP, strategy director and marketing integration expert at top global communications companies, including FilmDistrict, The Interpublic Group and Omnicom’s BBDO NY, Atmosphere/BBDO, and OMD. She is known for creating multi-faceted traditional and digital campaigns that deliver high-margin, multi-million dollar revenue streams for some of the world’s leading blue chip brands, including Visa, HBO, Office Depot, FedEx, Charles Schwab, and Pizza Hut.
Powell brings her appetite for growth and innovation to her client’s business and is always committed to discovering new ways to achieve goals — “smarter, better, faster”. She led numerous clients through the transition of traditional media to digital programs based on her expertise in online advertising, sponsorships, search engine marketing and social media efforts. In fact, as Founding Partner, Chief Strategy Officer, Managing Director of Atmosphere/BBDO, Fran’s leadership pioneered digital advertising, by launching BBDO NY and Visa into the digital arena. Most recently, Fran marketed FilmDistrict’s blockbuster films, Soul Surfer, Insidious and Drive with Ryan Gosling.
Powell is currently a founding partner of New Think Creative (www.newthinkcreative.com) and where she leads Business Strategy and Media.
She has held positions with the AAAA Digital Marketing Committee, AAAA Privacy Committee and holds awards that include Mediaweek’s Media Plan of the Year and AdTech’s Gold Award. She previously served on Pinemere Camp’s Board of Directors. Fran is a graduate of Penn State University and studied at the University of Manchester, England.
